A Night of Longing – Turkish Pop Legends

Review and Gallery

On Thursday, October 16, we hosted a beautiful concert titled A Night of Longing – Turkish Pop Legends, in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute.

The evening featured classics of Turkish pop, celebrating the works of legendary artists such as Kayahan, Sezen Aksu, Barış Manço, and many more.

Meral Cihan, featured as the vocalist for the concert, is a Turkish singer who began her musical journey at the age of 13, studying under Osman Sıddık Doğan and learning Bağlama, a traditional Turkish lute. She also trained in rhythmics and Bendir under percussionist Matthias Bautz.

Trained as a singing therapist, Meral now teaches classical singing, Tanbur, and music theory to students from around the world. Since 2010, she has been a faculty member at the Global Music Academy.

We were honored by the presence of Mr. İlker Okan Şanlı, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Berlin. Our sincere thanks for attending.

A heartfelt thank you to the talented musicians who made the night unforgettable:

  • Fahri Karaduman – Fretless Guitar
